My wife and I recently returned from a one week stay on the North Shore. This studio was perfect for the two of us! It is located on a very quiet street and just steps from a beautiful beach. The snorkeling here was just as good (and better) than several of the other places we drove up to an hour to visit. There is also a little swimming hole that is protected by a rock formation. It changes depth with the tide but is a safe place for kids to swim for most of the day. (The owner has two larger units which we plan to stay in next time - when we take our kids.) This was our 5th time to Hawaii (3rd time using VRBO). The apartment is spotlessly clean! We were happy to find absolutely no issues with bugs or ants, etc. The kitchen area had a hot plate, frying pan, microwave, rice cooker, coffee pot, etc. There is also a full size fridge/freezer in the apartment. We had everything we needed to cook a breakfast each morning and pack lunches for our adventures each day. The owner was very friendly and helpful. He lent us pretty much anything we were in need of. We borrowed sand mats for the beach, a boogie board, and even a small brush to clean mud off our hiking shoes. It was fun to talk with him on a few of the nights and hear the history of the area, his family, etc. We would absolutely recommend this apartment to any couple heading to Oahu. Don't make the mistake of staying in the congested mess of Honolulu/Waikiki! (We did that on our first visit to Hawaii.) The drive to the North Shore makes a world of difference!

My wife and I like to explore when we travel, and this little gem is perfectly positioned for adventures island-wide. We spent several days hiking around the North Shore and Windward side, and several more in and around Honolulu and the valley between the mountain ranges. We stayed 100 paces from a beautiful, broad beach, and not much further from excellent local food and a grocery- though you'd never know how near civilization you were. Quiet and calm, even when the adjacent unit was occupied by a family and their enthusiastic children! The studio itself was cozy and immaculate. Not even sugar ants here! Perfect for a couple. The owners clearly work from their hearts, and we were absolutely delighted to base our Oahu explorations here. The owners are very dear and enormously helpful with every question we had, about anything. Very highest recommendations, all around.

We loved this place! Our little studio (roughly the size of a smallish hotel room) was spotlessly clean, and included a rice cooker, fridge, hot plate, and microwave. Don’t be afraid of the futon: it’s a thick mattress, and pretty comfortable for a short stay. The vrbo posting is completely correct: the beach is literally a few steps away. And it’s one of those beautiful, quiet, non-touristy beaches that stretches for a mile or two. Who need the insanity of Waikiki? We didn’t bother renting a car, and we were perfectly comfortable. The circle-island bus can take you pretty much anywhere on Oahu for $2.50, and the bus stops a few feet from the studio. And there’s a shopping center with a grocery store and a few restaurants roughly a block away. (Eat at Papa Ole’s! Try the pastele stew and loco moco, and be prepared for massive portions.) Best of all, Ke’Alii and Geri and magnificent hosts. You’ll feel at home here, you’ll save a small fortune, and you’ll make other travelers jealous, since you’ll have a beautiful Hawaiian beach almost entirely to yourself.

My husband and I went mainly to visit the PCC and Temple. We wanted to be close to the activities and to the beach. We were 3 miles from the PCC and the Temple. We were just steps away to a very nice beach area. The room was very clean and had everything needed. Ke' was very nice and when we needed anything, he was right next door to ask. He even supplied us with a fan (we like the noise of the fan) and supplied us with beach chairs and beach towels and even an umbrella for the PCC. He was very helpful in directing us to places to eat and where stores were located. It was a very enjoyable stay and very relaxing and quiet. If we go back, we will be sure to stay there again. We stayed in the studio. Very reasonable price. The photos were accurate and very well kept. Definitely visit the PCC and any restaurants Ke' recommends. We enjoyed Papa Ole's (2 minutes away) and good prices.

What a relaxing 4 night stay!

My husband and I decided to add a short stay up north before our one week timeshare. We could not have a picked a better place. It was so much fun to be that close to a beach and not have to break the bank. Although there is only a micro-wave -- what more do you need when there is so many choices for meals out. Our hosts made several suggestions for local cafes. There is nothing like a platter of fresh sushi eaten out on the patio. We had a great Valentine's Day in our little studio.

What a great and affordable little place in Oahu! My husband and I spent our first 4 nights here of our honeymoon and were so glad we chose wisely! Right next to the ocean, we sat out on the porch every night reading and enjoying the sound of the waves. Quiet and peaceful, it made us feel like we were really in Hawaii (Honolulu was just like Los Angeles to us!). Close to stores and the North Shore it is a prime location for sure. The hosts Geri and Ke' alii (hope I spelled it right) were very gracious to us. They suggested Haleiwa Joe's Restaurant and it was excellent! For anyone visiting, try the shaved ice in Haleiwa - we will be returning just to have some more! Thanks again :-)

A little piece of paradise - nestled between mountains and a private white sand beach

We had a great time staying @ this location. I lived in HI for a few years as a child, and my memories were highlighted the most by the generosity and hospitality of the people of the island. These sentiments held true as soon as we pulled up to the beautiful residence. Geri and Ke-Alii went the extra mile to ensure our stay was a pleasant one. They were involved enough to ensure a quality experience, but also gave us the privacy and detailed information we needed to maximize the quality of our stay. We wanted to barbeque, and they made sure we had a good pit to use. When they noticed we were having a little honeymooner's dinner under the stars, they brought us a candle to set the mood. Don't stay in Waikiki if you're looking for an authentic experience w/ a prime view and hospitality. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a first-class HI experience. It's minutes from the Polynesian Culture Center, right across from a little grocery store and some eateries, close enough to the North Shore and Haleiwa and just about 45 min to 1 hour from HNL airport.

Loved the beach, the hosts were extremely genuine, helpful and accommodating. We can't wait to return! This little unit is a perfect combination to add extra space AND an extra bathroom to their 4-bedroom home. It's also a sweet small studio for privacy and a comfortable get-away.

This studio is in a nice, friendly location. We bicycled around the North Shore and had great meals at the shrimp trucks. The beach is only paces away and it is very photogenic. We took so many pictures there, I filled up a large memory card. Geri & Ke'Alii were welcoming hosts. It was great meeting both of them. Next time, we'll probably rent the bigger unit because we bring a lot of stuff, but we do plan on going back.

I rented the studio, 1 BR and 4 BR units for a weekend. My friends and I had a great time staying at this place. The beach is literally 20 footsteps away. It rained while we were there and the space was still able to accommodate 20 adults and 3 kids and we were still able to have a BBQ. Although the owners of the property live next door, they were not overbearing or nosy neighbors. Overall, positive experiance. Definately would stay there again.

Geri and Ke'Alii Mahalo for recommending the studio along with the 4 bedroom house. The added space worked great for us. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously.
