The BEST place to stay...

Our Family stayed 5 nights and our kids never wanted to leave.  The beach is so close and it is the perfect place for a family.  Our kids loved exploring around the house looking for little lizards.

The room is nice and clean, our family of five fit great (Husband and me, 2 small kids and a baby). The owners are awesome, doing whatever they can to make your stay great. We had a health scare while we were there with one of our kids and the owners did everything they could to make sure we were taken care of (even finding directions to the hospital for us).

Our kids are still talking about this vacation. We would and have recommended this place to family and friends. Hopefully we will be back many times.

Stayed here at Geri and Ke'Ali's place with my parents and younger brother - so right off the bat, it is definitely perfect for families.  It was my parents' first trip to Hawaii/Oahu and I wanted to show them what I love best about Oahu's north shore - things like waking up at dawn to catch the sun rise over the pacific and having the ocean right at your doorstep.  Although I've been to Oahu a few times already, Ali was very helpful in regards to tips about where to go and where to eat - a few things I didn't know before.  Him and his wife were just very helpful in general and weren't overbearing, as someone mentioned in a previous review.  They even gave us fresh papayas from their yard which earned extra brownie points with my mom, she is crazy about fruits/plants/flowers and so you can guess that she fell in love with Hawaii.  Anyways, thank you to Geri and Ali for being amazing hosts and we will see you next year.

I've been meaning to get around and type this review. I actually never type reviews...EVER! All I have to say is WOW!!! I am still glowing from our experience/stay at this rental. This location is perfect! It truly is the epitome of Hawaii and the aloha spirit. Being lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean has spoiled me and I find myself missing it so much! The tradewinds kept us nice and cool and my husband, 2 daughters and I fit perfectly in the unit. Everyday we found ourselves spending hours at the beach.(which is SUPER close.) The calm waters were perfect for my 2 and 8 year olds. Being able to pack our picnic lunches everyday in our very own kitchen was a plus. I was also able to cook dinner a couple nights with out a hitch. There are also sooooo many different places to eat nearby...everyday was an adventure! I recommend the shrimp trucks! Not to mention we visited the Polynesian Cultural Center for a fun activity day and had such a memorable experience. I could just go on and on about this place...... My daughters are constantly begging to go back to our secret getaway. 2013 can't come soon enough! We can't wait for our next "Hawaiian Dreams" vacation. Thanks for your warm hospitality! Can't wait to see you guys again.

My family and I were looking for an "out-of-the way" home away from home.  When we planned our trip, we decided to stay away from the "city crowd" and look for a comfortable place to spend our vacation.  Our friends stayed here and raved about it so we had to see for ourselves.  Fortunately, we made the right choice!  Everything was exactly the way it's portrayed on the website and photos, what you see is what you get.  It's not grand or elegant, but humble and accurate in it's description.  In fact, we got more than we expected, which was a pleasant surprise.  A tiny country style retreat near a peaceful, serene ocean is exactly what we needed.  Nothing fancy, but coconut trees, warm sandy beach, calm waters and a sweet little place to come home to, with a price that is worth every penny.  Upon leaving, we were already making plans for our return!

I just hope that a family coming to Hawaii for the first time will not rent this place! What a disappointment! We knew this place was small and not a "five star" but it was below even our lowest expectations and did not match the reviews that are on the website.  We have stayed in condos, homes and cottages before that are dated but this was dissapointing!  If you like a small bathroom with mold in your galley sized kitchen, and your refrigerator next the couch in the familyroom, then this place is for you.  The bedroom was the only room that had a protable airconditioner which left the rest of the apatment as cozy as being in an oven!  The backyard was not inviting to relax in and the view is zero.  The only plus for staying here is the location to the beach and the beach itself.  I hope the owners will post a picture of the bathroom, bedroom and back patio area to truly give a sense of what this place is like; my mistake.  We are a family of five and it worked with the blow up mattress that the owner gracioulsy let us use but the actual accommodations were dissappointing.  We are very easy going people that do not need 4 or 5 stars but this was not what we expected from the reviews and small amount of pictures.  Laie is a wonderful town with nice people and great beaches and snorkling but next time we will be more careful where we stay.

Owner response:
Mahalo for taking the time to share your experiences visiting Hawaii for the first time. In all the years of sharing our home with brothers and sisters from around the world, and many islanders as well, this is the first less than stellar review we have received. As always, we welcome our guests’ input as it helps us to become better hosts for our visitors. Rest assured, the points of concern that can be rectified, have been. A Brief Moment in Clarity - It’s a Tropical Island…It Can Get Warm Here. We have noticed that those who hail from cooler climates love the “tropical island” experience. You know, some people even come here on purpose just for that reason. We do try to remind our guests to leave the windows open throughout the day to allow for the ocean breezes to cool things down (and to remove as much clothing as the law allows -not really, just kidding) and “Hang Loose” as we say in the islands. Basically, we have only one season here in Hawaii, and that’s beautiful, rain or shine! Hmmm.. That’s a Lot of Words – “Do I Really Gotta Read All Dat?” If so, read on! The summary information regarding the apartment is accurate and not in any way misleading. We offer a humble apartment in a humble beachfront neighborhood and our summary, pictures, and fees reflect it as such. And while it’s not a hotel room at the “Ritz”, it has been many a families’ “sanctuary” and a “home away from home” for hundreds of happy travelers. But, if you’re like me, I may on occasion, skip over “alotta” words and get right down to business. Basically, “how much is this going to cost us?” Well, with us, what you see is what you get, and due diligence in research is always recommended as you may overlook something of importance. Such as, sleeping options for example. Trying to squish three teenagers into a fold out sofa bed is not recommended. “OMG Ma!” Please be appropriately correct when booking. Your family will love you for it. BTW, has anyone checked out the real estate prices in Hawaii lately? Isn’t it like eleventeen billion papayas per square inch out there? Whew, lord have mercy! Most of all, let the many reviews from families, honeymooners, artists, educators, and fellow vacation rental proprietors alike, be the compass as you search for the “living in Hawaii" experience for your next vacation. (Please read through the many reviews submitted by actual guests.) Aloha! Love everyone and be blessed. Ke`Alii & Geri

"Somewhere between reality and insanity, there's a place to rest the soul.."

Certainly true when visiting this wonderful one bedroom home so close to the beach! We stayed for three wonderful days exploring the North Shore and were so happy to have such a cozy place to come back too! Ke'Alli was amazing in all that he did for us. From making sure that the airconditioning was working to providing DVD's for our evening entertainment, to giving us lessons in the preperation of fresh coconuts and sugar cane Ke'Alii made us feel like one of the family! Our three boys had a wonderful time playing with Geri and KeAlii's girls as well (What beautiful angels!) We would definitely recommend this charming layed back home to anyone! We hope that someday we will have the opportunity to visit again. In the meantime Aloha KeAlii and Geri thanks again for making our visit such a pleasuerable one!

Tired of the crowds and sirens of Waikiki?  Looking for a quiet, cozy, private, non-touristy one bedroom unit that has everything?  THIS IS IT!!!

Located on the beautiful lush windward side of Oahu, at the end of a private lane, there is no traffic noise or other disturbances.  As the description states, after a full day of exploring, we truly did "come home to peace and tranquility."

Just steps to a wide picturesque white sand beach that is over 1/2 mile long!  Jumped out of bed and we were on the beach in less than a minute watching a beautiful sunrise!  Great for swimming, snorkeling, fishing, beach-combing, or anytime for a stroll.   This was like having our own private beach, there was almost nobody else there!

My bride and I chose this perfect location for exploring both the North Shore and Windward side of Oahu.  The Polynesian Cultural Center and Brigham Young University are just over 1 mile to the north.  Laie Point with its spectacular views is only 2 miles to the north.  Further to the north, shrimp farms, local fruit/produce stands, Turtle (Laniakea) Beach, Waimea Bay/Valley/Falls, Banzai Pipeline, Haleiwa town, Kaena Point, hiking trails, and the entire north shore are only a short drive away.  To the south, Kaneohe, Kailua Beach Park, Valley of the Temples (Byodo-In Temple), Makapuu Point Lighthouse, and more.  Spectacular views of the Koolau Mountain Range are everywhere with several trails for exploring.

Hawaiian Dreams beach house was clean and provided everything we needed during our stay.  Do not be discouraged by the photos here.  They appear to be outdated and do not come close to showing all of the wonderful updates, decorations, furnishings, amenities, and personal touches that Geri and Ke'Alii provide in this lovely cozy beach house!  There are bar stools in the kitchen, new sofa, coffee table, portable fan, and not a shelf was empty.

There were even two gold trimmed wine glasses waiting on the bar when we arrived.  The kitchen is well stocked with appliances, pots, pans, utensils, dish soap, etc.  Bathroom and bedroom were both well outfitted for our stay.  Bed was comfortable.  There are shelves with books and games, alarm clock, and a huge closet in the bedroom with lots of clothes hangers!

There is A/C in the bedroom, but who needs it?  Open any of the many windows and the cool fresh breeze flows through.

The large back yard, quiet street, and nearby beach look like a great place to bring the kids.
Highly recommended!

Our family stayed in this wonderful home for eight fantastic days this past November. The home worked perfectly for our family of four, was impeccably clean and had everything we needed to ensure our comfort during our stay. The kitchen was well equipped and we certainly put it through it's paces:) The beach was perfect especially for our little one, (18 months) who enjoyed the surf safety rolling over her toes and my husband and son loved the snorkeling. We took in some spectacular surfing at Sunset and Banzai, which are just a short drive away. Our hosts Ke'Alii and Geri were right next door and very welcoming and available. They very graciously helped a beloved family member ( our son's stuffed toy Bunny) get home to us after our son had accidentally left him in the sofa bed. Thank you so much!!! Bunny arrived home in time for Brandon's birthday and made for a very happy birthday boy indeed :). We recommend this little haven of paradise without hesitation, we will certainly recommend this property and other Hawaiian Dreams properties to our friends and family that are considering travelling to Oahu. Mahalo, Andrea and Chris S.

Owner response: Much mahalo to you both, Andrea and Chris!! So glad we were able to find baby's bunny and what a great surprise it must have been. =) So very pleased that our home was exactly what you were looking for. Children and adults alike love our beach and we know why! Yes, ideally located a short drive between the north shore of Haleiwa and the windward city of Kaneohe is such a plus!! We hope you'll be back soon and don't worry, we will take good care of your friends and family that you send to our home in paradise. With aloha, Geri and Ke'Alii.

This house is absolutely perfect!! I felt like I experienced TRUE Hawaii staying here! My future family and myself stayed in the 1 bedroom. It slept the 4 of us comfortably. My Fiance (Yes, this happened while in Hawaii!!! :)) and myself stayed in the bedroom while my future stepson and future mother in-law stayed on the pull out couch. I thought we came on this trip for a Vacation from our hectic lives, for Jonathen (our Son)'s 8th Birthday and to visit our cousin, PFC Shouweiler whom is based at Scholfield Barricks, for her 21st Birthday - But it was also so Jeremy could propse to me, in one of the most beautiful places on earth! The House was perfect! The room was perfect! The bathroom even had its charm! Th kitchen was perfect for us to make our coffee and breakfast in the morning and the size of the house was perfect between our adventures on the island. The beds were comfy and clean, and the private (open mostly only to the neighborhood) beach was out of this world. Breath taking sunrises!! We woke up every morning to watch the sunrise, and walk down the beach! The owners were amazing too! Although, I never got a chance to meet Geri, I'm sure she was just as welcoming and nice as Ke'Alii. They live right next door, but they respect your privacy. They are also there when you need them! Our son fell on some rocks and they were only a few footsteps away for peroxide and bandaids! We couldnt have had a better trip to Hawaii!! and this cute little house was the icing on the cake. I must say, I was a little skepticle of paying for a place i couldnt get the address to until a few days before our trip but when we pulled up and went in side all of the anxiety went away! I couldnt have been more pleased. I am so happy we stayed here and really experienced Hawaii the way I always imagined!! I am so glad we werent in Waikiki or Honolulu. It was way too touristy and and I wouldnt reccomend that for anyone! I would highly reccomend this home to every one! I am now planning my wedding and honeymoon, and am considering coming back to the place where it all started, and I have told my fiance a million times, when we come back I WILL be staying here again!! Oh yeah, and the price was UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Please dont let this beautiful experience pass you by!! Geri & Ke'Alii have a gem of a vacation home here and were unbelievable hostess'!!! Cant wait to come back again!!!!! MAHALO! :)

Owner response: Mahalo nui loa Brittany!! What a wonderful review!!! You totally made our day. After reading this, all we can say is CONGRATULATIONS to you both!!! We are so thrilled and excited to be a part of such a memorable and life turning experience for all of you. Your review is so spectacular, we are still blushing. =) We wish you all the best that life has to offer and I truly look forward to meeting you the next time around. Our schedule is so hectic that I do not always have the pleasure of meeting everyone. :( We especially liked your comment about being skeptical without the address, but now you understand and we are extremely glad that you were pleased. Yes, our sunrises are mesmerizing, aren't they?!? So ecstatic that you were able to enjoy and breathe in the beauty that we never fail to take for granted. We live in paradise and our goal is to share with our guests the most warmest possible aloha when you decide to stay with us. We treat you as Ohana. Most sincerely and blessings galore, Geri and Ke'Alii.

My family of four stayed comfortably in the one bedroom house. It was so close to the beach and felt like we were at home. The owners were awesome and made use feel like we had family there on the island. Annything we needed they were more than willing to help with. Our two boys that are 10 and 13 loved playing with their girls while we were there. I would recommend this house to anyone that wants the homely feeling while on an awsome non crowded vacation. The North Shore has a lot to offer. Snorkeling was great for all of us, my husband caught fish while we relaxed with down time at the house. There were plenty of things for my kids to do around the house when we would relax in the evenings cooking or watching tv so they did not have to be cooped up. Basketball was my kids favorite things when they were not swimming!

Owner response:Mahalo nui!!! We are so glad you "get it". It was such a pleasure having you stay with us and we are extremely pleased you enjoyed yourselves! Our belief is strong: We welcome your arrival as our guests and while you're here, you become part of our Ohana (family). This is the Hawaiian way. We look forward to your return!! Hi Geri and Ke'Alii, We had a wonderful time staying in your 1 bedroom with our family of 4. It was very comfortable and so convenient to have all the pots, pans, utencils etc. as we did cook while our stay. Our children loved the beach house and so did our friends who also stayed in the 4 bedrooms. The beach was only 2 houses away so we would not only go to the beach during the day but also take walks on the beach at night. It was so beautiful and relaxing. We will surely want to come back again. Katie

We greatly enjoyed our stay here. It was refreshing to stay in a quiet, clean, and well maintained Hawaiian home with all the modern amenities, far from the noise of Waikiki, yet so close to the ocean & parks, so close to restaurants, shops, Brigham Young University, the Polynesian Cultural Center to mention a few. Geri and Ke`Alii are very gracious and helpful hosts. With the information and help they gave us, we were able to squeeze as many memorable and happy times within our stay. We highly recommend this house for others to stay.

The condo was a great getaway from a typical Waikiki hotel and made it for a relaxing vacation from the mainland. The property is a couple of footsteps from the beach and the nearby tide pools are great for families to relax in. There is plenty to do such as riding bikes, boogie boarding, snorkeling, fishing and cookouts on the property. The condo is situated in close proximity to the Polynesian Cultural Center and famous North Shore beaches. Kualoa Ranch and the famous Haleiwa Town are only 20 minutes away. Very fun!!

Ke'Ali and Geri were wonderful to work with. Very personable people. We happen to be there when there was the tsunami scare and they made sure we had everything we needed and their parents escorted us to a safe zone. The place was great, a little cramped for 4 adults but would be very comfortable with just 2. The location was perfect for us because we love the North shore and could careless about Waikik and all the tourist stuff down south. The drive up is absolutely gorgeous and worth it if you do end up traveling back down to Honolulu. All in all I would recommend this place, and would definitely recommend Geri and Ke'Ali to be your hosts. My wife and I are hoping to go back soon!

Owner response: Hi Charles & Heather! Yes, what an experience for all of you to be a part of our Tsunami evacuation. Fortunately, everything turned out just fine. Definitely NOT an everyday vacation experience, but the price we pay to live in paradise. Yes, I could imagine it being a bit crowded in our 1-bedroom with 4 adults and 1 child! Glad that you still had a great time and we look forward to your return! Much aloha, Geri & Ke'Alii

18 years ago I lived in Hawaii with my family on the west side of the island. I was really hoping that the way I remembered Hawaii was still the same, and it was better! Especially, this place! It fit almost all of our needs, plus Geri & Ke'Alii were so wonderful! They helped us meet our needs even with our two very younger kids! The beach access was spectacular and the weather was cooler here than it was in the busy city. Even though you're not "right" next to Waikiki, the drive was so gorgeous that my husband and I, plus our two infants, just loved driving up here everyday! This place is so perfect for a small family and the area is nothing short of beautiful. Totally lives up to the name... "Hawaiian Dreams". Mahalo Geri and Ke'alii for a wonderful stay!

The neighborhood was residential and rural like much of the north shore. It is a great way to experience the real Hawaiian environment away from tourism. The beach is very kid friendly and our friend's young boys enjoyed the beach as we did too even when the November surf was high the ocean was calm enough for us to swim. The hills above are gorgeous and the nieghborhood friendly.

I rented the studio, 1 BR and 4 BR units for a weekend. My friends and I had a great time staying at this place. The beach is literally 20 footsteps away. It rained while we were there and the space was still able to accommodate 20 adults and 3 kids and we were still able to have a BBQ. Although the owners of the property live next door, they were not overbearing or nosy neighbors. Overall, positive experiance. Definately would stay there again.
